Changes to BC and behavior in version 4.3.0 ============================================ INI setting changes ------------------- - Webshop tab hidden by default As a first step towards removing the shop functionality from the kernel and move it into an extension, we have now disabled this tab by default. You can re-enable it by adding Tabs[]=shop to menu.ini[TopAdminMenu] - Design tab hidden by default Additionally Menu management left menu item has been moved to Setup tab. To re-enable design tab add Tabs[]=design to menu.ini[TopAdminMenu] - roles & policy link disabled in setup tab Since this link also present on User accounts tab, and belongs there. This link has been disabled on Setup tab in menu.ini under [Leftmenu_setup] - site.ini[RSSSettings]DefaultVersion Changed default version from 1.0 to 2.0 as RSS 2.0 is the most widespread feed format, and the fact that it support images in the feed. - design.ini [StylesheetSettings]CSSFileList Deprecated in favour of FrontendCSSFileList & BackendCSSFileList settings, will be removed in a future version (normally in two versions). - design.ini [JavaScriptSettings]JavaScriptList Deprecated in favour of FrontendJavaScriptList & BackendJavaScriptList settings, will be removed in a future version (normally in two versions). - site.ini [ContentSettings]CachedViewPreferences[full] admin2 design does not use any of the admin_navigation_* preferences anymore expect admin_navigation_content, this setting should additionally now default to 1 instead of 0 so new users gets access to preview tab straight away. Additinally many preferences on this setting was not really used within content/view and therefore was not needed here and just further decreased cache efficiency. So as of 4.3, setting in admin siteaccess is this by default: CachedViewPreferences[full]=admin_navigation_content=1;admin_children_viewmode=list;admin_list_limit=1 - site.ini [MailSettings]TransportAlias Added the list of available mail transports, used by the class eZMailTransport to instantiate the transport class based on the setting [MailSettings]Transport when sending an email. - site.ini [DesignSettings]DesignLocationCache Cache locations of design base directories. This setting is disabled by default, and enabled after setup wizard has run. Enabling it before running the setup wizard might throw notices if using a debugger at the same time. Change of behavior ------------------- - Look & Feel url hardcoded in ini Because of enhancement "#15672: Use ini setting for menu items in admin", url to Look and Feel object is defined in menu.ini[Leftmenu_setup]Links[] ( and if you have re-enabled design tab also menu.ini[Leftmenu_design]Links[] ) using object id 54. If you have an old install this object id might be a different one and you'll need to override the setting. - eZTreeMenuOperator/ 'treemenu' does not return pre generated data_map Because of enhancement "#3005: Increase performance eZTreeMenuOperator", data_map is no longer part of the hash-structure for each element, and you'll need to access it as normal using the node (so $item.node.data_map instead of $item.data_map ). - eZDir::recursiveDelete() performs a new check by default The directory to be removed must be under the root directory of eZ Publish, unless the second parameter of the function is set to false. This is a safety measure introduced to solve: "#015823: Running cache clearing procedure from upgrade 4.2.0 using root removes all linux system files" - templateInit( $name = false ) Parameter $name is now totally ignored as you have always gotten same instance anyway, so instead make sure you call $tpl->resetVariables(); after you get instance instead. Note: this function has also been deprecated, use eZTemplate::factory() - Function query() of eZMySQLDB and eZMySQLiDB triggers an E_USER_ERROR in case of error Previously, executing a bad query only resulted in "false" being returned as well as an error entry in the var/error.log file. Now, executing a bad query will stop the execution to have a common error handling between PostgreSQL, MySQL and MySQLi backends. - Function loginUser() of eZUser doesn't use the email address for updating the hash Previously when updating the HashType in site.ini to md5_user, loginUser() was using the email address to store the hash. Now it uses the login column of the ezuser table instead. - The content/removelocation operation now requires a unique parameter (node_list) which is an array of node ID which no longer have to belong to the same object. 'node_id', 'object_id' and 'move_to_trash' parameters have been removed. eZContentClass::instantiate() changes ------------------------------------- - $userID now has to be false if you want to create objects for current user If you don't set it to false, new object id will no longer be stored in user session for use by policy system to let anonymous user re edit object. Deprecated functionality ------------------------ - ezi18n() and ezx18n() functions has been deprecated in favor of new ezpI18n::tr() function that takes advantage of autoloading so you don't need to require_once the i18n.php file. These two function will be removed in a future version. - kernel/common/ezincludefunctions.php All functions in this file has been deprecated, functions not already deprecated: kernel_include(), kernel_common(), datatype_class(), extension_path(), ext_include(), ext_activate(), ext_class(), lib_include(), lib_class() and kernel_class() These functions will be removed in a future version. - kernel/common/image.php: imageInit() Function will be removed in a future version, use eZImageManager::factory() instead. - kernel/common/template.php: templateInit() Function will be removed in a future version, use eZTemplate::factory() instead. - cronjobs/ldapusermanage.php This cronjob will be removed in a future version, functionality is part of regular ldap logins. See issue http://issues.ez.no/16319 - kernel/content/ezcontentoperationcollection.php: removeAssignment() Function will be removed in a future version, use removeNodes() instead which can work on nodes not belonging to the same object. Renamed methods --------------- Removed features ---------------- Removed methods --------------- - All internal i18n.php functions have been removed, as in: ezcurrentLanguage(), ezinsertarguments() and eZTranslateText() - eZArchiveHandler This class and related sub-class eZTARArchiveHandler has been removed They have been deprecated since 4.1. - eZModuleManager eZModuleManager class has been deprecated since 4.1, in favor of the setting [ModuleSettings] ModuleList in module.ini - eZImportLookupTable This class is removed after being deprecated since 4.1 Removed globals --------------- - eZImageManager eZImageManager::instance() now uses static variable instead, this can be reset with eZImageManager::resetInstance(). - eZPublishTemplate & eZPublishTemplate_* See above notes on templateInit() (it reuses eZTemplate::factory, thus does not need these) - eZTemplateInstance eZTemplate::instance() now uses static variable instead. - eZMailTransport eZMailTransport does not use globals anymore.
